About

Good design begins with fit.

Where you're going, what you carry, what you refuse to compromise. Everything else — volume, fabric, hardware, price — follows from those three answers. Tomei exists because most bags are sold to a demographic instead of a journey.

01

We start with the route, not the buyer

A commuter and a hiker can be the same person on different days. We design for the movement, then say plainly which days a bag is wrong for.

02

Constraints are printed, not buried

Every listing has a “not for” section given the same weight as “best for.” If a bag is a bad answer for you, we would rather you know before it ships.

03

Unverified stays unverified

When a measurement is unconfirmed or two sources disagree, we publish that state instead of rounding it into a confident number. Two products in this catalog currently carry pending facts; one carries a contradiction.

How we work

Tomei is a small, founder-run bag company. We publish what we know about each bag, including the parts still being verified with our factory, and we keep the range deliberately narrow so the differences between the six bags stay legible.

Every bag lists what it is good for and what it is not. An honest “not for” list loses us a few sales and saves a lot of returns, which is the trade we want.

Production runs are small and sampling is ongoing, so a handful of specifications are still marked as pending or in dispute. We would rather show that than round it into a confident number.

Start with how you move.
