- What are Tomei bags made of?
- Coated and waxed cotton canvas with pebbled-leather trim and brass hardware, over a pale wipe-clean coated lining: oat canvas with espresso leather on Metro 16, olive waxed canvas with cognac leather on Weekender 28, deep navy canvas with espresso leather on Cabin 35, moss waxed canvas with a dark coated-canvas base on Roam 22, warm stone heavy canvas with cognac leather on Camera 24, and muted clay canvas with a sage pocket and espresso coated base on Junior 12.
- How do I clean a Tomei bag?
- Spot clean the canvas and leather with a damp cloth, and wipe the coated lining clean. Avoid machine washing; re-wax the waxed-canvas bags as the finish dulls.
- Is any Tomei bag waterproof?
- No. None of the six is waterproof. Roam 22’s waxed canvas and Metro 16’s coated canvas will shed a brief light shower, but there are no sealed zippers or rain covers, so they are not made for sustained rain.
- Which Tomei bag fits a 16-inch laptop?
- Cabin 35 — its strap-secured lid sleeve is built for a 16-inch laptop. Metro 16 tops out at 14 inches, Camera 24 at 15 inches, Roam 22 and Junior 12 have no laptop sleeve, and the Weekender 28 has a padded lid sleeve.
- Does Camera 24 have a built-in camera tray?
- No. The main compartment is ordinary. Camera protection comes from a soft removable padded zip cube sized for one mirrorless body and two lenses in total; lift it out and the bag is a plain backpack.
- Will Cabin 35 be accepted as carry-on on every airline?
- Cabin 35 is built to commonly published cabin-bag allowances, but airline requirements vary by carrier, aircraft and fare class. Check your carrier’s sizer before you fly.
- What do returns and warranty look like?
- Thirty days from delivery in unused condition, and a one-year warranty against manufacturing defects on every bag.
